Owner and Party Planner Megan Keane just loves kids and having fun with them.  She and husband Jared have two young children of their own - Danielle and Emilie.  Megan had often thought about teaching in the past but has always wanted the satisfaction and challenge of working for herself.  That is where the inspiration for Party Planet began.

Megan decided to leave the corporate world behind and launch her new business organising and hosting fairy parties for children under her newly created Party Planet brand.  Megan fitted out her restored Hamilton East villa to create an enchanted fairy grotto complete with lush greenery, butterflies and toadstools.
 

Pirate Island is launched

Megan's Fairyland was such a success that she was able to go to the next stage in her business plan and launch Pirate Island. This required new premises with enough space for Fairyland, Pirate Island, a toddler play area and drop-in cafe.   This would give parents and care-givers of pre-school age children a social gathering place while the children enjoyed the equipment and entertainment.  

New premises were duly located in Greenwood Street Hamilton and the decoration and fit-out began in November 2010.  Pirate Island opened at the beginning of March 2011.  
 

A dream fulfilled!

By starting Party Planet Megan has been able to combine her dreams of having her own business, working with children and being in a fun environment, where going to work each day is a real pleasure.  She finds nothing more satisfying than seeing people smile and enjoying themselves.
